Week 2 of the Zakka Style Sew Along...
Join us at LRStitched!
I hope all of you enjoyed Easter as much as my family did!
One of the treats I made from Pinterest
was a big hit...
They were just as tasty as they look!
{Ask my coworkers at the lab!}
They reminded me of something else I love.
I've had these wooden eggs for years, and I really love their colors.
{My Uncle Ron's chickens lay eggs that look just like these!}
So I pulled out my fabrics to make my version of the
House Pouch for the Zakka Style Sew Along,
and Robin's Egg Cottage was born!
I followed the pattern very closely,
using chocolate linen for the main house.
Visit the Flickr group for some AWESOME variations!
{Next time I might jazz up the back a bit.}
I made my little "wooden" door and little round windows
from Joel Dewberry's Aviary fabric.
The button flowers were a bit tedious to make, but I love them now.
I really love the aqua "scalloped" roof
made from Ruby by Bonnie and Camille for Moda,and
trimmed in fresh white ricrac.
Inside is a lovely chocolatey polka dot!
{And my eamylove label!}
I think it makes a sweet sewing pouch!
But Mother's Day is coming up...I bet any mom
would love to figure out why she "needs" this
sweet little cottage!
It's just been listed in my shop, eamylove, on Etsy!
Nice one! I like this combination of colors too.
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, I love the fabrics you've chosen and those pretty pearly buttons
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! I love what your used for your roof and your windows!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your nice comments. Making this house is like playing with paper dolls...so fun to try new colors and designs. I think I'll be making more, because the project is simple. Check out the Zakka Style Sew Along Flickr group for more wonderful ideas!
