What I Learned on my Summer Vacation...

It's time for my last homework assignment for
my Blogging Your Way 2.0 e-course!

We have been asked to talk about
what blogging means to us,
as well as what we've learned from the course.

If you haven't already read my first post,
it explains why I've started my blog.
In a nutshell, I love to share
stories and photos about
things I've made.

Lots of fun things have happened to me,
since starting this blog only a few months ago.

I've joined my first Sew Along!

{We're only about halfway through...please come and join us!}

Even though I haven't been able to participate every week,
I've made lots of projects from the Zakka Style book
that I may or may not have made otherwise.

{I'm back in the Zakka again!  Here's proof!}

Because of this Sew Along,
I've discovered so many new-to-me blogs
that are full of inspiration...

Some are contributors to the Zakka Style book...
like from Julia from 33stitches.

Others are people like me,
that are making zakka projects and linking them.
That's how I found Debbie of A Quilter's Table.

{She sent me some handstamped linen "tape"
in exchange for some key fobs.}

I've "met" other people from around the world,
with similar interests to mine.

{I wish I could mention ALL of my bloggy friends here!}

I've made a swap for mug rugs with The Patchsmith,
Amanda, from England!

Some of my blog readers have purchased my handmade items

Thanks to Kirsten of Gemini Stitches in Australia,
I now ship internationally!

One of the most fun events, besides the Sew Along,
has been the Sew, Mama Sew Giveaway Day.
I gained a lot of exposure
when I sponsored my very first giveaway.

{I'm grateful to all of those who have been followers since then!}

Aside from forming new connections through blogging,
I've also found new talented artists via BYW 2.0.
For example, how else could I have discovered
the lovely blog by Eos of Signora Aurora in Italy?

To sum it up, I am blogging so that I can create
connections that take me far away,
and then bring me back to my own form of reality.

In short, I want to be inspired,
and to inspire others.

{That's all.}

From the BYW 2.0 course, I've learned something very valuable:
By seeking to learn from those who are successful,
my path will take me to my own forms of success.

This course has me so excited about e-magazines,
photography techniques, and new trends in blogging
that I'd never heard of before!

{I have no idea where I'm headed,
but I'm going to enjoy the ride!}
